Timothy J. Zahnd, 74, passed away, surrounded by his family, on January 10, 2026 at 8:22 AM at his home in rural Williamson County, Illinois.

Timothy was born on March 25, 1951 in Chicago to Lonnie and Ruth (Powers) Zahnd.

He was proud veteran of the United States Army and served his nation bravely while stationed in Vietnam during the Vietnam War. Once honorably discharged, he returned home and married Joyce Zahnd who had a daughter- Kimberly. Later they brought James and Mikal into the world. He also began a long career as a Boilermaker in Chicago. He was a member of Boilermakers Local #1 in Chicago.

He married Melinda in 1996 and they spent almost 30 years together. He helped raise her son Michael Kus.

He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife- Joyce Zahnd and two siblings.

He is survived by his wife- Melinda Zahnd; two sons- James Zahnd and Mikal Zahnd of McHenry and Melinda's son- Michael Kus of California. He is also survived by three grandchildren, one sister and many nieces and nephews..

His wish was to be cremated and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorial arrangements were entrusted to McCluskie-Miller Funeral Home in Herrin.
