Nathaniel Lee Hastings, 42, of Carbondale, Illinois, passed away in his home on April 30, 2026.

Nathaniel was born on February 10, 1984, in Tampa, Florida. He was a beloved son, brother, father, and friend whose presence brought laughter and light to those around him.

He is survived by his loving parents, Timothy Lee Hastings and LuEllen Anne Hastings; his sisters, Danielle Marie Robinson (Shawn) and Katherine Frances Horn (Justin); and his cherished daughter, Natalyn Lee Hastings, who was the center of his world.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents and son- Raiden Hastings.

Nathaniel was known for his fun-loving and goofy personality. He had a natural gift for making people laugh and was almost always seen with a smile on his face. His friends felt like brothers to him, and he treasured every moment spent with them whether they were playing games, enjoying the outdoors, or sharing a good laugh together. He grew up playing paintball and airsoft, and he loved cooking as much as he could. Above all, Nathaniel's greatest joy in life was being a father. Time spent with his daughter brought him his deepest happiness, and she will always carry forward his love, humor, and spirit.

Nathaniel will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, but his memory will live on in the laughter he shared and the lives he touched.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorial arrangements were entrusted to McCluskie Funeral Home in Herrin.

Memorial donations are suggested to the family to assist with Natalyn's education and will be accepted by the family or mailed to McCluskie Funeral Home/501 S. 12th Street/ Herrin, IL. 62948.
