Obituary

We are saddened to announce the passing of Marvin Dean Rosenbalm, a devoted father, loving grandfather, and cherished friend. Marvin was born on November 3, 1954, in Reedsburg, Wisconsin, and he passed away peacefully on June 19, 2026 in West Frankfort, Illinois at the age of 71 from natural causes.

Marvin was a true-blue hardworking man, spending many years of his life as a machinist at Union Special in Huntley, Illinois. In his downtime, you could find Marvin at Menards, enjoying the outdoors by fishing, mowing his lawn, people watching on his verandah, or keeping his hands busy with home renovations.

Marvin leaves behind his beloved daughter Alesandra (Ryan) Lawrence, daughter Christine (Jeff) Sturm, and son James Rosenbalm, along with his dear mother Alice "Mammy" Rosenbalm. He was a proud brother to Thomas, Henry, Dawn (Wayne) Redner, and Judy Johnson. Marvin was a loving grandfather to ten grandchildren and a great-grandfather to seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his beloved cat "Rippie". Marvin was preceded in death by his wife Robin Rosenbalm, father Gordon Rosenbalm, and mother-in-law Shirley Shafer.

Marvin will be cremated, and his cremains will be treated with the utmost respect at a private gathering later. Memorial arrangements were entrusted to McCluskie Funeral Home in Herrin, IL. Memorial donations may be made to a No-Kill Animal Shelter of your choice in Marvin's memory.

Marvin will be remembered fondly as a hardworking, humorous, and giving man who brought joy to those around him. May he rest in peace.
