Herod- Marilyn A. Patton, 89, formerly of Lafayette, IN, passed away at 10:39 pm, Wednesday, October 14, 2026 at her daughters home.Marilyn was born on November 9, 1936 in Lafayette to John and Florence (Wolf) Danaher. She was a 1954 graduate of St. Francis High School in Lafayette and worked more than 25 years in Admissions at St. Elizabeth Hospital in LAfayette.She was catholic and a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Lafayette, Indiana. To say that she supported Indiana sports would be an understatement. Her grandchildren lovingly called her "Grandma Purdue". In addition to her Boilermakers; she supported the Indiana Colts, the Indiana Fever and the Chicago Cubs. She also loved quiet time spent vacationing on the Tippycanoe River with her family.She is survived by her four children; Robert "Bob" Patton, Jr. and Lynn of Rossville, Indiana, Patrick Patton and Mary of Delphi, Indiana, Jill Sheets and Jim of Herod, Illinois and June Killey-Lange and Jon of Zionsville, Indiana; 12 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren and eleven great great grandchildren. Also surviving are her sister in law- Judy Danaher of Elkhart, Indiana and one niece and two nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents, brother- John Danaher and sister- Phyllis Drury.She will be cremated and private family services will be held at a later date.
