Herrin- Keith Alan Robinson, 72, of Herrin, passed away at 5:30 PM, Sunday, January 19, 2025 at his home.

Keith was born in Herrin, Illinois on July 16, 1952 to William and Anna (Vick) Robinson.  He married Janice Mitchell on June 14, 1974 at the Herrin First united Methodist Church.  Together they shared 50 wonderful years of marriage and 53 years together total.

He was a hardworking man who, after receiving his bachelors in business management from SIU-C, began his career working various positions for Zeigler Coal Company and later Orient #3 Mine where he was a roof bolter.  After the mines closed down he began a career working with hot oil at Allen Industries in Herrin.  Lastly he retired from Diagraph Bradley in 2023.

He was a member of Union Gospel Mission in Herrin and enjoyed dove hunting and fishing for bluegill and bass at Little Grassy and Devils Kitchen Lakes.  He enjoyed eating out locally with his beloved wife and travelling to St. Louis, Nashville and Gatlinburg for shopping trips and mini vacations.  He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and a member of the United Mine Workers of America and the Carterville Gun Club and Shooting Range.

Survivors include his wife- Janice Robinson of Herrin; son- Jeff Robinson and wife Amy of Peoria; grandchildren- Benjamin and Riley Robinson as well as several nieces and one nephew.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister- Brenda Thompson.
