Carterville- Jane Ann Hartline, 85, of Carterville, formerly of Herrin, passed away at 12:04 PM, Thursday, November 7, 2024 at her home.
Jane was born on March 12, 1939 in Pomona to Herbert and Nelly (Cox) Griffith. She married Chuck Amati in February 1957 in Corinth, MS. He preceded her in death on November 18, 2008. She later married Curtis "Corky" Hartline on July 6, 1989 in Paducah, KY. He preceded her in death on October 29, 2016.
Jane was a hardworking woman who worked 20 plus years on the washer line at Maytag in Herrin prior to her retirement. In her spare time, she enjoyed camping with her family, reading extensively and listening to classic country music. She enjoyed going to Dairy Queen and on long rides with Debra and Marc. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and NASCAR fan.
She is survived by her daughter-Debra (Marc) Wade of Carterville; step sons- Steve (Lisa) Hartline of Anna, Danny (Charlotte) Hartline of Cobden and David Hartline of Cobden; grandchildren- Shane (fiancé Alexis) Wade, Sean (Jennifer) Wade, Matthew (Carrie) Hartline, Beau (Holly) Hartline, Danielle (Joe McCamish) Hartline, Alina Hartline, Jenna Hartline, Colbey Hartline and Conner Hartline; great grandchildren- Mason, Conner and Hudson Wade, Jackson and Olivia Wade, Lillie, Drake and Aiden Hartline. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, brothers: Norman, Bob, Joe, Danny, Kenny, Eddie Griffith and sisters- Marge Riggle and Gladys Ellis and Corrine Cluck.
She will be cremated and private family services will be held later. Memorial arrangements were entrusted to McCluskie-Miller Funeral Home in Herrin.
Memorial donations are suggested to Hospice of Southern Illinois and can be mailed to McCluskie-Miller Funeral Home/ 501 S. 12th/ Herrin, IL 62948.
