Gordon Wayne Dial, 87, of Thompsonville, passed away at 3:42 PM, Sunday, May 25, 2025 at Franklin County Hospital in Benton.

He was born on August 13, 1937 in Hamilton County to Ben and Dorothy (Smith) Dial. He married Naomi Puckett and she preceded him in death on October 19, 2024.

Gordon was retired after working many years as a custodian for Akin Elementary School. Prior to that he worked as a farmer and in various local mines.

His interest was quiet time alone fishing every day at his cabin at Bay Creek in Golconda.

Additionally, Gordon was a former member of United Mine Workers of America.

He was preceded in death by parents, step-mother- Pauline Gunter; wife- Naomi; son- Chris Dial and daughter- Twyla Fernandez.

Gordon is survived by his children- Harrison Dial, Nelson Dial and Evelyn Dial all of Thompsonville; 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

He will be cremated and inurned with his beloved wife in a private ceremony at a later date at Brady Cemetery.
