Darline Tolbert, 82, of Eldorado, Illinois, passed away peacefully at her home on August 5, 2026.

She was born on January 29, 1944, in Murphysboro, Illinois, to Harry and Oza Carter, who preceded her in death.

Darline is survived by her five children: Lori Creamer; Tammy Johnson (Tony Morris); Billie Jo Carter (James Baldwin); Amos Tolbert (Kristi); and Randall Tolbert (Karissa Renshaw).

She was a proud grandmother to Tiffany, Dakota, Montana, Destiny, Jessie, Whitney (Josh), Dustin (Christa), Rowdy (Heather), Hunter (Hailee), Rilye (Stephanie), Katie, Diane, Tyler (Jaima), Denver (Dani), Talia, Slayder, Brianna, Lake, Skylynn, Felicia (Charlie), Jessica, and Julian. She was also blessed with 35 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson, and several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Darline was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Oza Carter; her three brothers, Harry Carter, Billy Carter, and Charles Carter; her son-in-law, Charles Creamer; and her granddaughter, Cheyenne Creamer.

Darline will be remembered for the love she had for her family and the many memories she leaves behind. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. West, the doctors, nurses, and staff at Ferrell Hospital, and the compassionate team at Hospice of Southern Illinois for the exceptional care, kindness, and support they provided to Darline and her family during her final days. Your compassion and dedication brought comfort during a difficult time and will never be forgotten.

In accordance with her wishes, Darline will be cremated. The family will announce the date, time, and location of her celebration of life at a later date.
