With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Crystal Marie Wade, a beloved mother, sister, and cherished friend, who left this world peacefully on June 6, 2026, at the age of 69. Born on May 31, 1957, in Herrin, Illinois, Crystal was a lifelong resident of the community she loved.
A dedicated laborer in the health care industry, Crystal retired from Night Shield, where she devoted many years of her life to caring for others. She also touched many lives as an activities director at the Friendship Care Center and worked for Smoller Brothers Garment Factory.
Throughout her career, her gentle spirit and hard work left a lasting impression on her colleagues, friends, and those she cared for.
Crystal was a quiet lady who found contentment in her own company, yet cherished the time spent with her family. She is survived by her son, Bobby (Gerri) Wade; her sister, Cheryl (Tom) Cundiff; her brother, Randall Leeper; her niece, Ashley (Dan) Marciniak; and her nephews, Matthew and James Cundiff and great nephew, Chevy Rose. She is also survived by her beloved aunt, Rose Tow. Each of them carries the memory of Crystal's kindness and strength in their hearts.
A devoted member of the Baptist faith, Crystal's life was a testament to her quiet dignity and unwavering faith. She will be remembered for her gentle nature and the warmth she radiated to all who knew her.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, June 16, 2026 at Adam's Street Baptist Church/ 1521 West Adams/ Herrin, IL 62948. Pastor John Michael Connell will officiate. The family invites all who loved her to join them in celebrating her remarkable life and legacy. Crystal's disposition will be honored through cremation, and her spirit will forever reside in the hearts of her family and friends.
In this time of sorrow, we find solace in knowing that Crystal's compassionate spirit and dedication to her loved ones will continue to inspire all of us. May she rest in peace.
Crystal was preceded in death by her parents- William Leeper, Rubie Leeper.
Memorial arrangements were entrusted to McCluskie Funeral Home in Herrin.
