Herrin- Chad M. Martin, 50, of Herrin, passed away in the early morning hours of Sunday, August 11, 2024 at his home.

Chad was born on December 18, 1973 in Carbondale to George J. "Mickey" and Colette (Howard) Martin.  He married Amanda Kenner on July 2, 1999 at Energy First Baptist Church.

He worked for a majority of his career as an Operating Engineer for Local #318.

When he had spare time his favorite thing to do was be with his grandson, Parker.  He loved playing with him, teaching him and being his napping buddy.  He loved spending time with his children and wife and helping or spending time with friends and family when he could.  He listened to a variety of music but loved playing it loud.

Survivors include his wife- Amanda Martin of Herrin; son- Kaleb (Rachel) Martin of Ft. Collins, CO, twin daughters- Jade (Evan Chapman) Martin of DuQuoin and Kara Martin of Evansville, IN; grandson- Parker Chapman; mother- Colette Martin of Herrin; brother- Rick Martin of Belleville; sister- Heather (Aaron) Jerrells of Windermere, FL; many nieces and nephews and cousins; father in law and mother in law- Dan and Patty Kenner of Herrin and sister in law- Dawn Kenner of Herrin.

He was preceded in death by his father, brother- Brett Martin and sister- Sheila Emery.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 2:30 PM, Saturday, August 17, 2024 at Herrin City Cemetery.  Rev. James Wright will officiate.  Friends and family are asked to meet directly at the graveside.  Memorial arrangements were entrusted to McCluskie-Miller Funeral Home in Herrin.

Memorial donations are suggested to the Family or Free Again Wildlife and will be accepted at the cemetery or may be mailed to McCluskie-Miller Funeral Home/ 501 S. 12th/ Herrin, IL   62948.
