Carbondale- Cecilia Elaine "Laney" Treadwell, 70, of Carbondale, passed away at 4:58 PM, Saturday, June 10, 2023 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.

Laney was born on January 16, 1953 in Carbondale to Chester and Margaret Louise (Casper) Hale.  She was a caregiver for the Center of Comprehensive Services in Carbondale and a Christian.

She enjoyed going to church and listening to gospel music.  She liked spending time with friends and watching shows like "Reba", "All In The Family" and "The Jeffersons" with her beloved Billy Ray Pittman.  Her favorite color was yellow.

Survivors include her special friend- Billy Ray Pittman of Carbondale, daughter-Kim Norris of Marion and son Mike Norris and wife Jolene of Thompsonville; grandchildren- Cody and Chelsea Taylor and Austin, Aaron  and Ashton Gourley; great grandchildren- Avery and Riylnn Taylor and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She will be cremated and a private service will be held at a later date.   Cremation services were entrusted to McCluskie-Miller Funeral Services in Herrin.
