Marion- Bruce Steven Smith, 66, of Marion, passed away at 11:33 PM, Monday, September 23, 2024 in Marion.

Bruce was born on April 20, 1958 in Monterey, California to Mr. Smith and Edna (Beaudry) Smith.  He married his wife of 26 years, Jill Bass, on November 3, 1997 in Marion.  She survives of Marion.

Bruce drove trucks over the road for Earl L. Henderson Trucking in Caseyville for 24 years prior to his retirement.  His CB Handle was "Little Pit Bull".  He enjoyed fishing and spending time riding Harley Davidson Motorcycles with his beloved wife.  The attended all types of poker runs throughout the area and enjoyed donating to Toys For Tots, Cancer Research and Veterans Causes.  He was a generous man who enjoyed giving of his time and resources to those in need.  He had a kind and caring heart and enjoyed surprising his family with gifts when he was able.

He is survived by his wife Jill Smith of Marion, two sons, 2 step children, 2 grandchildren and one step grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Bruce will be cremated and private family services will be held at a later date.  Memorial arrangements have been entrusted to McCluskie-Miller Funeral Home in Herrin.
