Royalton- Betty R. Polbinski, 91, of Royalton, passed away at 7:30 PM, Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at her daughter's home.

Betty was born on October 28, 1933 in Bush to Thomas and Goldia (Qualls) O'Brien.  She married Adolph Polbinski in 1958 in Bush.  He preceded her in death on August 27, 2020.

Betty worked in retail sales  for more than thirty years and retired in 1990 from Famous-Barr.  She was Pentecost and a member of Faith Chapel in Blairsville.

In her spare time she enjoyed shopping with her friends and family, walking and reading Nora Roberts romance novels.

Survivors include her daughters- Vicky (Paul) Reed of Johnston City and Traci (Kevin) Sanders of Royalton; grandchildren- Randi (Brad) Patton of Marion, Eric (Kara) Reed of Herrin and Jeremy (Lora) Sanders of Royalton; great grandchildren- Arden, Kahli, Beau and Rylan.  Also surviving are several nieces and nephews including her special niece- Barbara Jean Holland of Hurst.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers- Virgil and Thomas "Buster" O'Brien and sister- Thelma Lavendar.

A graveside funeral service will be held at Blairsville Cemetery at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, April 8, 2025.  Pastor Jeannie Ellis will officiate.  A time of gathering will begin at 12:30 PM, Tuesday at Blairsville Cemetery.  Funeral arrangements were entrusted to McCluskie-Miller Funeral Home in Herrin.

Memorial donations are suggested to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital and will be accepted at the cemetery or may be mailed to McCluskie-Miller Funeral Home/ 501 S. 12th St./ Herrin, IL  62948.
