Herrin- Angela M. Pirtle, 53, of Herrin, passed away at 11:58 AM, Thursday, August 21, 2025 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

Angela was born on May 17, 1972 in Cape Girardeau, MO to William and Mary (Benefield) McHughs.

She was a hardworking woman who began working at Hardees in Cape Girardeau and more recently was a stay at home grandmother.

She was baptized Catholic and attended Christian church locally. She enjoyed spending time with her beloved grandchildren and vacationing with her family on the beach. She will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her mother- Mary McHughs of Anna; three daughters- Lindsey McHughs and fiancé Jacob Donoghue of Herrin, Candice Pirtle and fiancé Joseph Hobson of Herrin and Savannah Pirtle of Ohio; eight grandchildren; three sisters- Jennifer Palmer and husband Aaron of Cape Girardeau, Denise Henderschott and husband Marty of Paducah, KY and Stephanie McHughs of McClure; brother- Phillip McHughs and wife Stephanie of Scott City, MO; numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father, infant child and two infant grandchildren.

Her wish was to be cremated and a private celebration of her life will be held at a later date officiated by Rev. Aaron Boyd. Memorial arrangements were entrusted to McCluskie-Miller Funeral Home in Herrin.
