Allen Dale Payne Sr. of Goreville, Illinois, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2026, at the age of 68. Born on September 30, 1957, in Johnston City, Illinois, Allen was a devoted father, grandfather, and friend whose hardworking spirit and love for the outdoors will be cherished by all who knew him.

As a skilled laborer, Allen dedicated over 20 years of his life to welding at Arnolds Fabrication and Machine in Camden, Tennessee, where he was known for his strong work ethic and commitment to his craft. His life was marked by a passion for camping, fishing, and hunting, activities he loved to share with his family and friends. A man of deep faith, he held the Baptist faith close to his heart.

Allen is survived by his son, Allen Payne, Jr and wife Vanessa of Goreville, and his daughters, Lisa Dolliver and husband Jason of Paris, TN and Melissa Johnson and husband Ky of Scotsdale, AZ. He treasured each of his grandchildren: Ashley Haley, Kimberly Studard and husband Will, Macey Dolliver, Lilli Dolliver, Kylee Denardo, Megan Denardo, Jared and Heather Tisdale and Tyler Boger will carry on his legacy of love and perseverance.

A memorial service in honor of Allen will be held on May 24, 2026, at McCluskie Funeral Home. The service will begin at 5:00 PM, preceded by a memorial visitation at 4:00 PM. Friends and family are invited to come together to celebrate Allen's life and share their memories.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to Relay For Life and will be graciously accepted at the funeral home.Allen Dale Payne Sr. will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace.
